If my opponent weren't calling stations I may have taken a stab at this on the flop. Rest of the hand seem normal.

It depends on the opponent. Against you I would have raised the flop to see where I was at. If you came back at my I would seriously contemplate folding. However, against the normal O8 player at that level I am going to the felt with a wheel.

Hand 1 - I assume this is H/L? I don't raise naked aces and a second to nut low with that many people. Its likely A2 is out there and another A3 and your aces will not hold up without improvement. You have a low flush possibility and 1 straight possibility that is likely a split. I call preflop and fold that flop to any bet.

Hand 2 - Agree with gooper. perfect flop for you and very tough for an inexperienced player to get away from because too many push the same hand. However, he doesn't find out where you are by not raising so once he sticks with you, he has to continue as he's getting at least 1/4 of the pot and hopes to get half his money back which is why you need to raise to find out. He's calling to get his money back at best in most cases.

i actually don't really play O8, just omaha hi but I do understand the concepts pretty well. Not as well as I should or other regular players though.

I do understand your point that you have the best hand but its still naked aces and very unlikely to hold up, even if you do eliminate it down to 2-3 players and you basically announce to everyone "I have AAxx" so they can better play against you. I would prefer to see a good flop and move from there. Its a postflop game and this hand is mainly a good preflop hand and decently poor postflop hand.
