I thought I played this pretty well... checking the turn to extract another bet from my really obvious straight (opponent was conservative and pretty straightforward), but my friend who was watching gave me a solid talking to about getting money in with cards still to come - his point was that the guy would be more likely to call if he thought he had some hope... and also that i'd feel really stupid if I got counterfieted or drawn out on by a flush
