In some FullTilt pro lesson on TV, they were saying that putting in the chips so they splash away from the player is a sign of weakness (unconciously the chips are going away from him). If he bets more carefully and not splashing them away, it's a sign of strength. I think it makes sense that people want to suggest more strength when they're weak and "splash" harder.
If they always stack their chips the same way and don't toss them in, try to watch the speed of the betting AND whether their hand shakes. The few times I played live, my hand was shaking when I had a monster and I don't know how they didn't picked up on it.
