Is Pacific Poker really a safe place to play?

My first thought is that why are the colluders/cheats going to organize something like this at a .50/1 table? Is it really worth their while?

That said, if you think there is evidence of collusion there and you're not comfortable playing there, then you shouldn't. What's the point in being suspicious and concerned when you have a gazillion other options?

Who cares if its safe, the players are so bad they'd make awful colluders too, so you'd still win anyways.

I dont think Pacific has cheaters. They just get a lot of players from the casino business who really have no clue. Also they only allow one table, which reduces the sharking effect of good players. I played there for a decent amount of time and won fairly consistently.
