BB/100 for various level

Postby GooperMC » Thu Dec 15, 2005 9:49 pm

I was hoping that people with large PTO databases could post the top win rates per level for players with a large number numbers of hands.

Here are mine, but I know some players (Kuso) have much larger databases.

PLO $25 (> 2000 Hands)
Player, PTBB/100, Hands

Player1, 21.78, 3515
Player2, 18.20, 11255
Player3, 15.25, 3809

I don't have a large enough database to post and real numbers for $50 and $100. Anyone else care to fill in the gaps.

I don't have anyone yet at PLO50 high with 2000 hands. I got 3 people over 100 and they are all significant losers so far.

As for PLO25 high, everyone i have over 2000 hands with is a winner. Interesting. I guess you don't want actual names and don't want me to include myself.

PTBB/100, Hands
21.79, 2233
11.14, 3308
8.41, 2969 ------> suspected bot
7.84, 2954
6.61, 3796
5.79, 4262
4.93, 2611
4.35, 2089 ----->BTPer
.38, 3207

I don't datamine so these are actual hands played with these people

I didn't have a very large database but if I recall at the 100, 200 and 400 levels I don't think I had anyone other than me and perhaps one or two others who had over 12 PTBBs/100. I should point out I only had a handful of players over 2000 hands, though.

Kuso, what kind of number do you see in your monster database?

In my monster database, the mummy is about 12 PTBB/100, frankenstein's monster is roughly break even after 3k hands and teenwolf is running away with 87PTBB/100 after 45k hands.

Note that I was mostly, but not entirely, consistent with my rounding. I think that this is close enough to get the idea.

Anyway, this was an interesting stat analysis. It goes to show that there are NOT a lot of big PLO8 winners over a large number of hands.

As for my stats, I have an interesting trend at Party. I was basically a break even player during Party bonuses and the Multipoker mega-reloads (lasted for two months... sigh). Those bonuses killed my game. I think I could have eeked out a small profit (in fact, I may have), but playing those games was like pulling teeth (see below). That's why I started learning SH LHE. Anyway, finding new sites, the Party split, and playing at the end of Party bonus periods provided me with stats that I consider more "normal" (10-20 bb/100). Also. playing after drinking heavily is definitely my biggest leak, so I've made a resolution to counter that (I'll post it later).

Note to Gooper... don't even bother playing the $25s (and maybe the $50s) during the early part of the Party bonus. You can pick off a lot of small pots, but you are typically against the nuts if there's lots of action. The usual morons still play, but it is often hard to isolate them. Look for greener pastures.

25s, 10k hands, 13 bb/100 is TODDF315.

I'm reviewing MFs hands... I just wish I knew more of his hole cards when he folded.

15 players w/ >5000 hands

hands === bb/100

6k === 18 LoserMike
11k === 13 TODDF315
6k === 12 goliathb
6k === 11 marlow2
6k === 7
5k === 7
5k === 6
6k === 4
9k === 4
16k === 4
6k === 3
5k === 3
8k === 0
18k === (2) AmourOfGod... would be slightly positive if you include the few thousand hands I have for ArmourOfGod (a winner)
8k === (3) KidMarley... was a decent winner until recently

Note that some of this data is old, as I haven't really datamined the 25s a ton recently. I've been focusing SH limit and the higher PLO8 tables.

Comments on your take

- I think that > 20 ptbb/100 is possible at the 25s, but you have to be very solid and consistent. For me, that means no playing while drinking (obviously), and probably no more than three tables (I make some marginal mistakes at four unless I am in the zone). I also think you need to know who the nut peddlers are, and who you can steal pots from. PAhud is almost necessary for this, imho. Another key point is table selection. As I have said before, it can be death when you have a bad LAG and a bunch of nut peddlers at a table -- it's hard to islolate the LAG ATM. I personally would aim more for 15 ptbb/100, but 20+ is a nice goal.

- I would say that > 20 ptbb/100 is probably more attainable at the 100s -- if you know how to play it right. I say this for a few of reasons. First, some people who play high stakes PLO8 or high stakes in other games come slum over in the 100s and will donk off a lot of money without thinking twice. These kinds of people just land in your lap. Second, you don't have nearly as many nut peddlers. The aggression is usually such that the typical weak-tight nut peddler from the 25s gets put to some tough decisions in the 100s. Third, some people actually play poker, so you can get folds and you can get a lot of money in with less than the nuts (e.g., good two-way draws). Anyway, if you know your opponents, 20+ is possible, imho. FWIW, I don't think I'm there yet in terms of having the consistent 20+ game. Again, I'd be happy with 10-15 until I put A LOT of effort into making detailed notes. I'm not sure if that's going to happen (although it should). Maybe over my break in February.

- It is indeed curious to me that someone would play more than 5000 hands and be losing money (often a lot). Keep in mind that a some of the data collection measures are skewed. For example, I see AoG often has two or three stacks at the 25s when I open up the tables and then proceeds to lose them. PT sees the losses, but did not see the wins that got him there.

Anyway, hope this helps.
