Ok, the lessons in this article, are pretty basic stuff, for anyone who's played in "real" games before.
But, ATE knows that many of y'all out there, are internet players, who may be trying BM play for the first time.
There are a few things you need to know, to not lose a pot to an occurance that CANNOT occur, in an internet game.
So here goes:
(1) Make sure that no one can see your cards, when you look at them. This is the most basic advice, but some players spend a lifetime doing it. Cup your hand over the cards, forming a little circle with your thumb and forefinger. The makes a little "viewing hole" that makes sure that no one, EVEN SOMEONE standing right behind you, can see your cards.
YOU CANNOT BLUFF, IF THE GUY next to you can see your cards!
(2) Never listen to what anyone says, when they verbally declare what they have. Many players will verbally call out their hand. But, sometimes they are wroing, or are doing it on purpose. Wait until you see the cards, before throwing yours away.
(3) Protect your hand. No not ever leave your cards on the table, without covering them with something HEAVY. A sliver dollar coin, works well, as does a small stack of chips (but don't use only a single chip, AIN'T heavy enough
(4) Don't leave high demonination chips, at the table when you go eat or to the john.
If you have been winning, and "color change" into several $100 chips, remove them when you go.
Announce to the table that you are taking them, and that they will be returned. Casinos are full of desparate people, and it's not that uncommon for someone to boost big chips. Also, ATE has seen fights break out, with all the chips going all over the place. Just try to reconstruct who had what. Camara resolution usually isn't that good. And, the guy who picked up your hundoids, may already be gone.
(5)For God's sake, if you have a huge win and have thousands in cash, HAVE SECURITY TAKE YOU TO YOUR CAR. It's usually best to leave the monies in a PLAYER'S bank. This is a noninterest bearing account, that most large places offer. You can have money there, and just sign "player's checks" when you want chips.
Be very careful, going home too. Like ATE said, casinos are full of desperate, CROOKED people.
You would not BELIEVE what I've seen, and heard of, especially in a poophole, like Los Angeles.
Ok, tired now. Be safe
Oh yeah, please tip the dealers, there there to serve you, and this is customary
