I played it for the first time tonight, and hated it somewhat less than I expected to. I did figure out how to multi-table. It's not much fun, but it's not completely horrible. I could keep track to some extent of what was going on at each table.

Two things are bad about the multi-table setup. First, I am used to having each table in a corner of my screen, which helps me to remember which table I am playing at. "That guy in the top left" is the crazy raiser, or whatever. But now when switching tables, they all look pretty much the same, so it's harder to remember which table the crazy raiser is playing at. Hurts my reads, which are already hurt by multi-tabling.

Second, the software is much slower than it was. Tonight the bonus cleared at about $5-$6 per hour, compared to the $8-$11 it was clearing at before the software switch. I don't know if this is just people getting used to the new software. I think the software itself is also slower: you can pre-check "fold" and it still take a second or two when it gets to you sometimes. Bleah.

Also, I did get kicked off all my tables at once for some reason. Couldn't figure out how to get back on so I closed the software and reopened it. Then it asked if I wanted to be put back on my three tables. I said YES PLEASE DAMMIT.

Overall, I was going to give it an F. It's up to a C-/D+.

It's awful. I cashed out of Bodog last night after playing in a $50 MTT where by the end of the tournament, the lag was so bad I couldn't stand it. A couple of times when I was UTG, I got timed out and my cards folded before I ever even saw my cards. The thing's such a resource hog, it slowed down everything else on my computer even after I closed the client.

Bad bad bad. I can live with the butt-ugliness of it, but I can't forgive a giant step backward in dependability and functionality.

I know this is an old bit at many on line sites, but I've noticed at lot of chat about the flops at the new bodog software. A lot of people are upset about getting premium hands cracked with runner, runner flush and straights. I've got to admit, I've seen a lot of 3 of a kind and 3 or 4 cards to a flush on the board with the new software. A lot of AA and KK getting cracked.

My Neteller account came alive at last, and I put $1500 into Bodog to clear the 10% bonus. I'm starting at 50NL while I get used to the bizarre software.

Not impressed.

The system designers obviously don't play poker and didn't think to involve anyone who does. The red background is garish. The cards are smaller then the icons. Multi-tabling is horrible. The hands/hour is far too low. And to cap it all I got booted out twice tonight wth fatal errors.

Then again, the players are really "any Ace any place" bad and many seem to be unable to bring themselves to bet more than 1/5 pot.

I think I'll take my time working off this bonus. Can't say I wasn't warned!

The software has so many bugs it's just sick. I love winning money so I'll stay but ugh.. Half the time I can't chat, can't see the chat and/or see my notes.

JESUS... I just 2tabled for a couple hours while watching a DVD, and I mustve folded 10 times without knowing my cards, sat out 15 times on the miniview table, and just a whole bunch of other crap... And all this on a laptop that had 2 Gb RAM and a 256 Mb video card... I mean, I've 6 tabled porn videos without missing a bounce, and I can't keep this GD software running ... RIFRIGGINDCULOUS...

I know that if I was makin the millions that Kenny is making there, I'd stick around too... But since I ain't, I'm cashing out the millisecond my bonus hands clear...

I emailed Bodog about their software, and here is the response I got:


The software cannot tell when a player is simply lagged behind in their
connection, or if they have actually stood up from their computer.
Thus, if it does not receive a signal within the allotted time, and you
have not actually disconnected from the network, you will be folded as
if you had stood up from your computer and also put on auto-fold until
your return.



You may want to consider some system maintenance to try to keep your
connection to our network servers as strong as possible. We recommend
cleaning out your computer on a regular basis. This can include
clearing your internet cache, de-fragmenting your computer, or even
having it professionally cleaned out. As well, simply turning it off at
least every few days will help to free up memory on your computer. If
you are low in memory, your computer may not process the software in
real time, which is essential for online poker as you only have 28
seconds to respond when playing your cards. Running other programs
while you play poker will have the same effect because your processor
is trying to keep up with all applications.

So what they are saying is that it's our computers fault.
