I have been running terribly at stud H/L lately, and this is my question.

Playing a stupidly high ante game (.50/1, .25 ante at party), how do you open up?

I understand the top 8-10% of hands I should be playing. The question becomes, if I have to open up that next 10-15% of hands, what are they. Apparently they are not the 883 or 772 hands, the 3 suited, the 10104 hands.

If I need to open up, what hands should I be looking for?

With an ante that high, you're in a crapshoot.

I don't know what percentage of your hands you should play, but it's high.
