200 NL. 1 - 2 blinds and I have 350 or so stack. I have everyone covered at the table.

JJ in the BB. There are 5 limpers to me and I make it 8 to go. I get 2 callers. 34 in the pot.

Flop comes: J 8 3 with 2 diamonds.

I absolutely have decided not to slow play big hands with draws on the board. I fire 34 at the pot fully expecting to take it down. I get 2 callers!! This is actually quite shocking but I am happy at this point. I am sure one has a flush draw but not sure on the second hand could be.

136 in the pot

Turn is an 8 non diamond. Very nice card but my thoughts turn to getting as much value out of my hand as possible. If I bet the pot it would put this guy all in. It is very beneficial to think about the turn and the river in regards to getting the rest of someones money. There is no need to be greedy here. After a few seconds of thought I decide that 50 dollars into a 136 dollar pot would give either hand plenty of odds to continue.

I get one call and the button lets it go. The other key here is now that this guy is completely pot committed with only 46 dollars left.

River is a rag and I put him in. I didn't get to check his hand but he just mucked. Just a reminder that once you have hit a monster that your attention should turn on to the best way to get all of the chips. Giving them odds to draw is a great way to accomplish this.

Since you still had 2 opponents at the turn, I dont think I wouldve slowed down. I wouleve bet about $100. He probably wouldve called his last $96. You left $46 on the table. Get the money while he still thinks he has a chance to win the hand.

My only problem with how you played your hand was pre-flop. That rasie with pocket JJ with 5 limpers is to small IMO. When you hold pocket JJ you have a 57% chance of at least one overcard hitting the flop. If you didint hit your set the last thing you want to see hit the flop is an A or K. Pocket JJ can be a hard hand to play. Its a hand you want heads up. In the end it workrd out great anyways. Flopping a set then filling up on the turn, its sweet isnt it.

I didnt realize that you that you had a boat at the turn. I take back what I said. I like your turn bet better now depending on how much the other guy had in his stack.
