B & M 3/6 limit hold'em game, ten handed. I have [2d] on the button. Blinds are 1/2, but a raise is $3 more at this table(limp is only $2). 3 callers and the MP player raises. MP player(villian) has been playing pretty tight, and has only raised with AA and KK. Has also called down bets in position w/ sets, and top pair. Next two players fold, cutoff calls, I call, SB folds, BB calls and the first three limpers call. 7 to the flop.
Pot is $35. Flop is [5h][2h]. I feel pretty good about this one. Checks to the raiser, who bets the flop. Cutoff calls, I call, and not surprisingly, everyone else calls. 7 to the turn.
Pot is $56. Turn is . This is almost what I wanted, the flush appearing. But, I didn't want the straight flush draw to appear. Anyway, it checks to the MP guy, who also checks it. Then the cutoff bets it, and I decided to raise here. I'm not sure about this decision, but I was pretty happy with the pot size and figured I could take it down here. Everyone folds to the MP player who coldcalls two bets? and the cutoff looks at me and folds as well! So, heads up into the river.
Pot is $86. River is . MP IMMEDIATELY bets out. I get pretty unhappy, show my pocket twos and fold. I figure I can't beat a higher pair, so I don't want to throw away another $6. Should I have called this bet? Any way to play this one better?
