I'm fairly new to PLO8 and am currently playing in a .05/.10 $10 PL game. How should you proceed when you flop 2 pair? I realize that straights and flushes can materialize fairly easily in O8 so I'm not quite sure how to handle this situation yet.

In a multiway pot at lower stakes 2 pr is virtually worthless. Even if you happen to have the current best hand, you have hardly any chance to improve.

One of the few situations where you can invest some money if you have AK/AQ and flop top 2 on a rainbow board like AK9 (no low draws) and where you don't have more than 2 opponents, none of whom seems to be interested in the pot. Almost always fold to serious action. You have infinitely better chances to earn money there!

Sorry, I realize it's pretty general but I meant it in general, too, not specific. I find myself wondering what to do in instances of being the BB and hitting say top and bottom pair. Perhaps holding K-Q-7-6 and the flop being K-10-7. It seems that betting out is almost worthless and if the turn is a scary one it's probably over for my meager 2 pair.

top two pair, especially ones that don't have many overcards to them, are much more powerful than any other two pair. It depends on how draw heavy the board is too. Its a very tricky situation where you can determine its right to push them or even just check fold them. You do not want to be taking them against a large field.

In the hand you presented, i don't much like your hand at all since its not top two and you have no other draw on a draw heavy flop (even without the flush draw) so I'm checking that and folding to any real bet.
