Might as well....

Hey y'all. I've been here for a while but I might as well introduce myself here anyway, since I'm not exactly well known across the net like some of you.

As far as cards go, I'm a pretty good short-handed NL hold'em player. Really don't have the patience for a full ring game. I'm a total LAG, but I seem to play it pretty profitably. My true "specialty", though, is being able to play any poker game profitably, albeit sometimes barely, with little to no experience. I just have a sense for how to play the game different than the rest of the table, which is normally the best way to play. The only exception is omaha... I can't play. Tried studying it, tried every limit, was marginably successful at the .50/1.00 limit game at party, but that's it. Feel free to ask me strategies on pretty much any game, wether it exists or not, I can normally give you some pretty good advice on it. BUT NO OMAHA! Haha...

My favorite poker moment ever happened about a week ago in an mtt at GC. I limped in with JTs, flop came down and made me broad-way, with two of my suit. I raised, got pushed all in, and called of course. The guy had KK for three kings. On the turn he sucked out on me with the case king. On the river I hit my suited queen for a royal flush. ROYAL FLUSH OVER QUAD KINGS, BABY!! I call that move, "How to suck out a suck out artist"

Outside of the poker world, I'm just the usual 19 year old college student. Play a lot of guitar, working on recording and mixing a cd (that's what I want to do when I "grow up"), and playing in a band, doing the crappiest shows in town. Musically, my thirst can only be quenched by music this is: fast, deep, melodic, heavy, and very rythmic. Yeah, I'm a metalcore kid!

There ya go.

It's good to have you here. Wish I started playing when I was 19 ;-)

Can you give me some examples of music you like? I'm starting to get more into rock, hard rock, and metal. I need some more good songs to try out. This coming from someone who likes sinatra, broadway and classical lol.

:)

I started playing when I was 12... lol.

Anyway, as to music, it depends... I'll put some into different categories.

Metalcore - Great stuff if you're just getting into metal
1. Killswitch Engage (The cd "End of Heartache" is their most melodic. "Alive or Just Breathing" is probably their best, but a bit more harsh)
2. Beloved (Ok, these guys are more punk, but still awesome)
3. Avenged Sevenfold (Download the song "Unholy Confessions", so awesome)
4. Atreyu (The song "Ain't Love Grand" is awesome, but hard to get used to their old singer. Their newer cd "The Curse" is good metal. Good guitars)
5. Shai Hulud (Just plain goodness)
6. Unearth (Newest cd "The oncoming storm" is the best metalcore cd ever. Hands down.)

Hardcore - It takes a while to get into this stuff, but you're missing out if you disregard it.
1. Caliban (Their newer cd is not that great, but has some good songs, like "Goodbye")
2. Circle Takes the Square (These guys are what thursday would be, if they went thrash, when he sings he even sounds like him)
3. Comeback Kid (More punk-metal... download :Wake the Dead")
4. Evergreen Terrace (Their cd "Writer's block" is the best cover album I've ever heard. They cover bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Offspring, U2, and make it hardcore)
4.Heaven Shall Burn (Pretty good British metal)
5. Lamb of God (I Hate them... but I can't stop listening...)
6. Darkest Hour (Good guitar, don't like the singer that much though)

My "Hardcore" list is kinda wussy. Some real hardcore bands are Bleeding Through, Between The Buried and me, On Broken Wings and Shadows Fail.

There's also a ton of great local bands, even in NC.
Partake in my bollocks, bloody chav!
