I have decided that I am going to take a break every hour. If I dont feel like playing any more, I am going to quit.

So just played an hour, finished at +71. Im going to take a break and play another hour while Iron Chef is on.

I realized, when I hit the wall at around 3 today, that I am much more tired than I thought. I worked myself an insane amount in january and febuary, then basically went on a 3 day bender last weekend after the bar. Then I jumped right back into work this week. I think I am still feeling the effects of that. By the time I get home from work, and play a few hours, my mind is just spalttered on the wall.

So, from now on, I am going to take breaks and try not to play when I cannot bring my A game.

2 something hours, -50. I was up early, then took two rather nasty beats, then was down to like 10, told myself I was going to win money this session, made it to .25 short of being even, then lost it all.

Played a quick 1 hour session two tabling at sun tonight.

I have determined that I
A) need to play less hands (therefore playing better hands)
B) need to play these hands much more agressivly (particularly on 3rd)
C) need to play shorter sessions (as I am usually up early and fade at the end of my sessions).

I started playing and was immedately down $15 on each table. This is very unusual for me. Lately I have been winning early and dropping like a stone at the end. But it was not because I was playing bad, but ran into 4 bigger hands. trip queens into a flush, a flush into a full house, trip aces into a full house and two pair into trips.

But I did not panic, did not try to get away from the strategy I was going to execute.

Finished up 22 on 1 table and 10 on the other for +32 in one hour.

Got my 3rd street agression to 3.67 on one table, which left me with a 4th street agression of 0, and got my 4th street agression on the other table to 4.33, which left my 5th street agression at 0.00. I guess getting hyper early can get you a free street. Played about 150 hands in that hour. 10 bb/100 every once in a while sure is nice.

Off to bed.

One other PT note. I am at -.58 bb/100 for -23 in 25 sessions. Thankfully, since I hit the bonus trail, I am up 145 dollars in that time. Too bad I am going to be playing sans bonuses for a couple weeks till my pin gets here. But if I can get this tigher, more agressive style down, I think it will make beating the cryptos much easier in the long run. Really the only way to play such a passive group of people.

Put in a quick 45 minute session before dinner and studying.

76 hand 2 tabling at SunPoker. Finished +$8 on one table and +25 pounds on the other for a tidy +$52.

Im really digging this tighter, more agressive style. I will get called down by a huge hand every now and again, but they leave a ton of money on the table when they do. Anyway, off to hit some dinner then watch this MPRE DVD. Depending on how long that takes, I might get in a quick session later, but probably not. I have been trying to get to bed earlier so I am not so dead at work.

I also get my performance evaluation for January and Febuary today. 67% realzation rate, something like 170 billable hours (partialy because I had 120 non-billable for the time I was off studying for/taking the bar). Not great, but not horrible, considering I was studying 6 hours a day on top of working full time and that it is also only 5% below the next lowest associate. I also found out that my total target for billable hours for the year: 1650. I do not know if I will hit it due to the bar studying, but I am going to try. 120 hours is not a lot to make up over 10 months. Anyway, off to dinner.

I have been trying to figure out how to open up without playing too many crap hands. I have quickly come to really like the raise a small pair if my kicker beats the board. I have found that I can usually get to 5th for 1 bet if I raise and that I usually get paid off if I hit trips/2 pair.

I like these plays alot more than some previous ones. The only thing I would do different is on the second hand when he raises your 4th street bet I would have made it three bets to knock that other guy out. You do not want him in there even though you are trailing in the hand. The pot is already getting big so use every opportunity to drive out straggling players to get it heads up even when you know you are behind in the hand but are going to continue which you certainly are here with your hand being very live. Nice day
