I checked out Doye's Room a couple of weeks ago, tournaments do not work off the bonus. And the 2000-chip starting stack is deceptive because the blinds start out at 20/40 and are ridiculously fast. Third level is 50/100, and then they double from there -- 100/200 Level 4, 200/400 Level 5, etc.

Because they had no 7 Stud and only a very few active micro-limit LHE tables, I cashed out.

Haven't played tourneys at Doyles, but their cash games are ridiculously loose... Like calling down w/ 2nd pair, no kicker loose...

I think Piers has played one, as he was telling me about a headhunter tourney they have...

They do have a tourny with a 25 +2.50 I believe that is free the first time you enter. You have to put up the entry fee but then you submit a form and they reimburse you. They have three bounties, usually on Doyle and two other folks, knock out one for 25.00, two for 10K and all three for 25K, good luck.

As far as the NL games go they are pretty damn nice in my opinion although I have only played about 3 hours and lost a little in doing so.

If I'm not mistaken, you can also get RB + Bonus at Doyles.

I am the trendsetter. I start this thread and report fishiness, and everybody follows me and discovers the joy that is Tribeca. Just wanted to point that out. My bonus whoring ==> good results for the whole community.

Tribeca is the new Bodog, at least at lower levels. Plenty of fish in the sea, and the fishies are much fishier than most, and the sharks are few and far between. Today I lost a set over set for 80% of a stack, had AA lose to a dumba$$ gutshot that hit, and still finished up almost 1.5 stacks in 2 hours.

However, it should be noted that there is a 75BB max buy-in at any NL game 1/2 and above. Even at 5/10 you can only sit down with $750. If anybody tries out those bigger games, let me know what you think.

Overall, though ... Tribeca: Recommended.

Did they take away the $200 buyin for the .50/1 game, cause I've never actually been able to find one of those...
