Played the private rebuy tourny again Wednesday night. I was pretty happy with my play, ended up 2nd out of 12, but the kicker is that I didn't rebuy or add-on, so I got a pretty good payout, $65 for a $54 net. Other than that I've only played a couple of $1 5 table SNG's, one omaha hi/lo and one hold'em. I felt like I played both of those pretty well too but wasn't able to make the money, on the omaha one I pushed in with AQQ2 and got called by AKJ6, villain caught a king and I went out one off the money. In the hold'em game I was BB in a family pot with 72os, all-limpers and I checked. Flop was 732 with 2 hearts and I pushed, got called by the big stack, he had QQ and the 3 paired on the turn and I got knocked out. Other than that I have only played a couple of rounds in a ring game, but had 2 big hands that I'll post, I didn't get to play much this week because I was moving from our apartment to a house. There's still a lot of work to do so I'm not sure how much I'll get to play this week either, but hopefully I can squeeze some in.

Well, I finally did it, I moved up to 25NL (thanks for the nudge Excession and Shamrock). With the money from the rebuy tourny last week and the net from my last few tables, my BR was exactly $500.82, which gives me 20 buy-ins. I've decided that if I lose 4 buy-ins I will move back down, but I started out on a good note so hopefully that won't be the case. I also started a new PT Database since my old one had some 25NL hands, but I wanted to start anew. Anyways, here's my goal stats:

GOAL: To win $500 (20 buy-ins) playing .25NL
I set this goal because it would bring my BR to $1000.

Goal: 03.33%

Things are going pretty well in the 25NL world so far, the play has been a lot more aggressive, but the players seem worse than at the 10NL level, weird. I sat at one table today where people were calling all-in's pre-flop with QTos, lose a stack, and reload just to lose another one later. I'm actually playing a lot tight now, and my pfr% is down because I'm calling raises with hands before I get a chance to raise them. Anyways, stats and hands so far, I may or may not get to play some more today, but I'm going to post anyways:

BR: $577.82
Goal: 07.78%

02/3/06 and 02/04/06 Stats:
Limit: .25NL
Hands: 108
VP$IP: 12.96%
PFR: 0.93%
Net: $58.35
BB/100: 108.46

Total Stats:
Limit: .25NL
Hands: 210
VP$IP: 14.76%
PFR: 1.43%
Net: $77.00
BB/100: 73.33

Both of these hands were against the same villain and very read/feel dependant, I normally would've folded both of these.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed)

saw flop|saw showdown

Button ($12.10)
SB ($9.20)
BB ($20.95)
UTG ($15.20)
UTG+1 ($27.70)
MP1 ($2.75)
MP2 ($18.95)
Hero ($30.05)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [Ts], [Ad].
3 folds, MP2 raises to $0.75, Hero calls $0.75, 3 folds. Standard raise for villain with any 2 cards.

Flop: ($1.85) [9h], [2h], [4d] (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero bets $1, MP2 calls $1. He bets any pair here, a check means complete miss or slow-play.

Turn: ($3.85) [7d] (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero checks. I'm still cautious of the slow-play so I check behind here.

River: ($3.85) [9s] (2 players)
MP2 bets $2, Hero calls $2. Since I'm pretty sure he didn't have a pair on the flop, the 9 is a safe card for me. I know he likes to bet scary cards, so I figure I'm ahead here more times than behind.

Final Pot: $7.85

Results in white below:
MP2 has Td Qs (one pair, nines).
Hero has Ts Ad (one pair, nines).
Outcome: Hero wins $7.85.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed)

saw flop|saw showdown

Button ($10.50)
SB ($7.45)
BB ($17.45)
UTG ($19.65)
UTG+1 ($74.40)
MP1 ($21.15)
MP2 ($36.25)
Hero ($24.75)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [7c], [7h].
UTG calls $0.25, 2 folds, MP2 raises to $0.75, Hero calls $0.75, 2 folds, BB calls $0.50, UTG folds. Once again, villain can hold any 2 cards.

Flop: ($2.60) [Td], [6d], [Th] (3 players)
BB checks, MP2 bets $1.25, Hero calls $1.25, BB folds. His bet really makes me think he has a 6, I think he bets an overpair harder here. I don't re-raise because he's a lot more likely to come back over with almost anything, I've seen him do it before, so I opt to keep the pot small.

Turn: ($5.10) [8s] (2 players)
MP2 bets $1.75, Hero calls $1.75. I believe he bets a lot more with an 8 here at least half the pot, but since I want to keep the pot small I just call.

River: ($8.60) [4c] (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero bets $4, MP2 calls $4. Now I'm sure he doesn't have a ten or eight, so I value bet the river.

Final Pot: $16.60

Results in white below:
MP2 has 6c 4s (two pair, tens and sixes).
Hero has 7c 7h (two pair, tens and sevens).
Outcome: Hero wins $16.60.

This hand pretty much speaks for itself.

Flop: ($1.75) [6c], [2d], [2h] (7 players)
SB checks, BB bets $1, UTG+1 folds, MP2 folds, Hero calls $1, CO raises to $4, Button raises to $10, SB folds, BB folds, Hero raises to $29.25, CO calls $18.75 (All-In), Button calls $15 (All-In).

Some more good sessions today, the only negative session I had I ended at -$12 because by rockets got outdrawn by 8Tos. Anyways, I'm trucking along towards my goal, I'm sure variance is going to kick in soon and slow down my progress though. I also accidentally sat down at a PL table, but managed to stack a guy with aces while I was waiting for the blinds to come around before I left. I'm going to include those stats with my NL anyways.

I tried 2 tabling last night with decent results. Also played the rebuy and finished one off the money with my top pair losing to trips, but there wasn't much I could do b/c if I folded I would've been almost dead anyways.

Did some more 2 tabling. Played decent I think, ended up a good amount, but it was mostly due to some serious sucking out. Oh well, it's happened to me so it's about time I dealt it back.

This was a horrible call by me, even when I made it I said to myself that I was up against trips. To my credit I was going to check/fold on the turn, I don't even know why I made the call, I had been playing tight and so had my opponent, I knew I was beat and should've saved myself $5. As it turns out I got lucky and hit my 2 outer on the turn, but it was still played horribly and I can't expect to beat this level if I can't drop this hand.

It's been a nasty week for my poker game. For starters, I spent the week in CT, so I hit up foxwoods one night for some 2/4 limit. I felt like I played very well, just really tight and bet the sh*t out of my quality hands, but got rivered on the last 5 to drop my stack. Basically, my 2 AQ's got beat by Q8 and A7 respectively when they caught 2 pair on river, KK got beat by A3 when he flopped a 3 but caught an ace on the river, AK beat by A6 catching 6 on the river, and TJ where I caught a T on the flop and bet it down got beat by A9 who called with no pair or draw and caught an Ace on the river. The friend that I went there with said he had never seen so many outdraws in such a short period of time to one person. I'm not complaining about it, just usually if I lose like that it's because of one or two outdraws that leads to tilting, but in this case I stayed in control but couldn't turn the luck around. Funny thing was, the guy who stayed around with Q8 against my AQ, who called a pfr, flop, and turn bet with crap, got pissed off at another guy who cracked his slow-played aces with a flush draw, and started telling him he couldn't believe he stayed in that hand. Hilarious.

So the next night I tried my hand at some 2 table SNG's on Poker room, the first one I lost with AJ vs. a slow-played AQ, second one I lost a coinflip with pp vs. overs, these were both just normal, not really bad luck on either. The 3rd one though I made the final table with a decent stack and was able to get a guy all-in with my rockets, the guy calls, but then, the big stack (about double my stack) calls as well? First guy flips over JJ and big stack flips over....KJs!!! Needless to say he catches his flush.

So, I also tried some .10NL 6-max to try and round out my game some more. I dropped one stack when I accidentally pushed all in with middle pair (meant to type .75 but typed 75) against a moron, who of coarse calls with 2 overs (9J on a board of Q34) I guess thinking I'm bluffing or something, he catches a 9 on the river, calls me an idiot, then leaves. I dropped another stack when I flop top 2 and get all in against an OESD who catches.

Luckily though, my 25NL game is still going strong, I had one bad day where I dropped almost a whole stack before I left, but other than that I've been winning.

I haven't posted in a while since I haven't been playing much 25NL. I've been taking a break and playing some little $1 two table SNG's just to mess around, I haven't been tracking it but I think I'm a little up. I played a .10NL $50 added Turbo MTT and finished 52 out of 2300 for a whopping 35 cent profit. But the good news is that I played a $1 MTT and finished 2nd out of 924 for a $116 profit, by far my best MTT finish ever. I plan to get back to 25NL soon though.
