I went over to Party to try and 9-table their 1/2 NL games. I usually 6 table PR's 1/2 NL games and have beat that game. However, after a week and 10k hands, I'm only a break even player at Party. This is a relatively small sample. HoweverI've been outdrawed with the most fucked up hands I've ever seen. People reraising paired flops with flush draws and sucking out. I was playing a 11% VPIP Rock Strategy, playing all pairs and AK for raises as well as making some LAGgy bluffs from late position with suited connectors, etc. I'm playing AQ and AJ very conservatively but still cannot beat these games. There's usually 4-5 people with VPIP's over 30 at each FR table.

How do you play at a FR table when there are -several- maniacs?

Eliminate the 'bluff' part and hands that require high semi-bluff fold equity...they just don't fold so there's no equity...try that and see how it goes.

Party is not really poker, in the same way that 2+2 isn't a real community. It's all flash and bravado, not much for gamesmanship.

FWIW, I did an experiment to see if I could develop a winning strategy on Party. After a month, I had a decent win rate, but it dawned on me that what I had to do to win at Party really made poker not much fun. I've haven't played there since.

There's no shame.

Well FWIW Chance, and pardon if I'm stating the obvious, I can see the attraction to Party - the second highest player base on the net and TONS of poor players. Maybe cut down on a few tables until you start booking some wins, or switch over to PokerStars, which has an even higher player base if that's what you're looking for?

In actuality though, I'm comfortable it's variance though dude - you put up some solid posts. Just stick with it.

But also the biggest shark-pools on the net - what matters isn't the absolute number of fish, but the ratio of them to sharks - for $200 NL 6 max I can find games most anywhere and find it hard to believe that play at the big sites with their multitabling semi-pros can be as lucrative as at places like Pacific, Paradise and B2B.

Party was worth playing for one reason above all others - the easiest to release $100-$200m monthly bonuses on the Net. Since they stopped those I haven't been back..I've just not seen any reason to..
