...who was it...Doyle, TJ, Slansky, Hellmuth, Sexton, and Caro...
The final heads up battle was interesting and gave me pause to think...my thoughts were that Doyle just wanted to get it over with quickly one way or the other when he was big chip leader over Slansky and went all in on him with a just above average hand...Slansky called and won. Then a few hands later, Slansky took it down.
Normally i think Doyle, if the money or fame had mattered, i don't think it did, would have taken Slansky easily had he had patience and really tried...(not to knock Mr. Slansky's skills)...
The same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago...it was down to my buddy and me in a Kentucky tourny..we were heads up...he had me 2:1 in chips...if i'd been patient, i think i would have taken him...but he has a growing family, probably needed the money more than me...thinking of these things, i quickly went for the kill to get it over with or let him go ahead and win it...i Reraised all in with my KQo...he quickly called with his AKo and won 1st...
Point of all this...which many know...is if you think or KNOW that you are better than your opponent, and you're heads up....be patient and let your skill win out....if you think or know that THEY are better than you, go for the quick kill...
