Lucky morons!!!!!!!!!!

Postby Kurab » Thu Dec 16, 2004 10:05 pm

Did I over play this hand - maybe ? But come on.....

Blinds at 25/50 , I have the lucky moron covered by several hundred.

Loose player in EP raises the min, I look at QJo in the SB....and call so we are heads up.

Flop 53Q rainbow.. I am liking this....I check, be bets about the pot - I check raise him all in - he calls and flips over.........53o no help for me and I am out. ( Now - I guess I should of reraised him but still)

Agressive - yes but some of the cards and catches I see at Party just make me wonder - I have never seen the underdogs win so much....this one is gonna bug me for a while.....

Unreal.......

Ok I am done venting.....

You hit the nail on the head when you said something about overplaying the hand. Checkraising all in with top pair third kicker, after your opponent bet the pot at you?

Sure he made a mistaake preflop. And those mistakes added up in the long run will be costly. But if you make that kind of play consistantly after the flop, then it's probably almost profitable for him to play 53 against your QJ every single day.

IMO playing QJo in the SB, out of position, to a raise, is a recipe for disaster anyway. Even with it being a minimum raise, he probably still has a better hand more often than not, not to mention better position. The fact you have 25chips in the pot is practically irrelevant. Would you call QJo to a minimum raiser in MP? Why do it in the worst position on the table then?

Going bust with QJo in a raised pot is very poor indeed, regardless of which way you slice it. Patience is a virtue in SnGs, when your opponents are poor enough to play 53o you don't need to push so hard on marginal hands, they'll simply give you there chips when you actually play something half decent.
