Good read? I guess so. With the blinds being only 10/20 you havn't seen that many hands and a lot if players play loose when the blinds are small then tighten up as the blinds increase. I don't like this strategy BTW. I like to paly tight early and loosen up as the blinds are worth something.
Why didn't you think he had a pocket pair larger then 8 or pocket 8's or pocket 2's or A8 or A2, 89s? You had a good read but you risked your trn life on A high. If he had Ax it was a split which isn't worth risking your stack for.
Is AJo worth a 4X BB raise? Yes to isolate Mr. agressive. So that was a good play.
Betting the flop pot size with A high? I am not crazy about this move. Even fish get cards sometimes and the fact that he is limping and calling would make me want to slow down because so many Mr Aggressives like to bet big when they have crap and bet small when they have a real hand. It turned out he put you on a bluff and pushed all in on a bluff. You put him back on a bluff and called. He sucked out. Now you have a bad beat Party is rigged story.
IMO you both played to aggressive at the 10/20 level. Hope I am not being to harsh.

If I ain't sinkin', well I must be swimin' If I ain't dead, I must be livin' Livin' is the thing, that scares me the most And if I ain't sleepin', well I better be fishin' If I ain't anchored I will be driftin' But all and all, I'm doing pretty good, since I hit my third coast!
