Weakest Riverfold

Postby HoldemFish » Fri Apr 22, 2005 4:07 pm

Just wanted to share a really bad played hand with you. Have u ever seen a weaker fold on the river, against a tiny bet in a big pot?

Its on the bubble in a 5$ SnG at stars.

Yeah, you definitely need to call when it's 200 to you and the pot is 3400, and you close the action.

On the turn you shouldn't make a weak bet like that, after betting 600 on the flop. You have to decide whether or not you still think you have the best hand, and either bet larger or check.

I agree with norton. The turn screams weakness and "please don't raise me" so either check or bet large. The river is a definite call for a big pot and expect to lose it a decent amount of the time but you are getting great odds.

I put Booya on a medium pair and never really considered the flush draw since he raised me on the flop. He is a calling station.

Okay, here is my analysis of your last hand:

Preflop: You are nearly chip leader and only 7 guys left. With JJ I would raise 3xBB in that case. But your call is not really bad beacuse of your bad position.

Flop: You bet the pot, he raises and you call, seems okay for me.

Turn: You check and wait what he is doing. I would have done the same. His bet on the turn, however, was very bad. He could have draw to his straight or flush for free!
Now the chip position comes into consideration: Against someone with less chips I would have raised all-in. But your opponent is the only one with more chips than you. Therfore, I would have folded on the turn.

River: Difficult decision. The pot is very large. I think your call is okay.
