First session since I got back from vacation, decided to play 6-max so I could play a little more openly which I prefer - played well and ran good for the most part, A-K>A-Q (even though the flop came A-Q) - flopped the joint with K-Q and dude with J-9 turned trip Jacks and called off half his stack. Flopped two sets, won nothihng, no flopped flushes, etc.
Finally got that "donk" hand I've been waiting for, I check in BB with 3-4 of
, flop is Q-3-3 two
. SB checks, I check, UTG bets pot, only I call. Turn is an 8 of
, I check, he checks. River is the 4 of
which is basically the card I wanted (obviously). I bet weak (half the pot), he mins, I shove for like $20 on top of his $4 and he insta-calls with the King high spade flush.
Turned sour at the end right before I got up from my last table, the one where I was up to $60 on, dude who has $12 makes it $1 UTG, I call on the button with 10-9 of
, SB & BB call. Flop is 10[s]5[d]6[d]. Checks to UTG who bets $4 I put him in for his last $7, he calls with 7-4 of
and spikes the off-suit 3 on the turn, 5 of
on the river. So I lost $25 more that I definitely deserved but that's poker. Overall won close to $50 in 45 minutes, finally good to win after my 6 buy-in downswing which was brutal.
