Wow! Jack high huh? I dunno dude. I dont think id call in a pot that small. I agree with betting the gutshot on the turn though, depending on how tricky of a player it is. Often, if someone in position makes a suspicious bet like that on the turn, I will go for a CR with nothing, figuring my fold equity is >50%. But against a normal player, id bet the gutshot.

Also, i think against the avg player id muck that river. He was allowed in for free from the BB, so he could have literally any two cards.

I never never NEVER limp from the button in a SH limit game, against only the blinds. J9 is good enough to raise there, and bad enough to fold at the same time. I dont mind either move, but there is no way you should limp with it, IMHO! Its way too weak for that- but with the added fold equity and initiative of a raise, and of course, po-zee-shun, your probably going to win more than lose.

Also, I have noticed a new way to 'steal' blinds at the SH tables, although it usually involves the SB stealing from the BB. Its a limp rather than a raise, but basically a dark-bet on the flop, no matter what comes, assuming that your opponent missed. I guess the idea is that when the pot is not built up by a preflop raise, your opponent is less likely to peel one/make a move/call you down with a highcard, etc.

I personally am much more of a fan of old school blind theft, but i have seen this other method work too. In any case, my point here is that if you are limping from the button, especially if you endup against the BB only, you should plan on dark-betting the flop if you are checked to. I know its pretty cliche to do that at the over-agg shorthanded tables, and many times you will get in trouble this way, but over all, a general 'bet when checked to' strategy profits at the 6 max tables, i think.

Okay, that pretty much concludes my $.02.

PS: Hey i was wondering if you had PT stats for the 6max limit tables. I know you said you were a pretty big winner, so im Just wondering what yours are, if ya dont mind...

Mecos, there was one super loose limper, if it was folded to me I'd definately have open raised NOT open limped, but after the loose limper I thought J9 was too weak to raise but too strong to fold. Your thoughts?

I also agree that in retrospect I prolly shoulda fired on the turn.

P.S. I never said I was a pretty big winner, I just said it was my current stomping grounds :D. But I'd be glad to post em, what stats are you looking for?

Oh, you know- the usual crap.

VPIP, PFR, PFA, WtSD, W$Sd, and maybe some stuff about how you play from the blinds, like %hands played from BB and SB, att to steal and % defended against steal, etc--

Tiburon over in the regular limit forum is workin on coming up with some autorate rules for shorthanded limit, so I think your stats would be pretty helpful for that too!

The thread is called something like 'auto rate rules for 6 handed discussion' or something like that.

You definitely oughta go check it out, im shure youd have alot to contribute...

As far as the J9 hand, I didnt realize there was a limper. A super loose one though, you say huh? Well, if he was loose enough and bad enough that you felt alright gettin in there against him with J9o, then i probably wouldve either raised it if the blinds were tight and i had a decent chance of gettin it HU, or else mucked it, since even though the limper is loose, its not that hard to have J9 beat. Then again, you had position, so I do get what you mean about it might be worth a limp if the limper in front is real loose--
I still think Id raise it or muckit though, maybe im just a lover of LAGgy play...heh.
