Yea...I keep thinking Mandalay is closer to the Strip/Trop intersection than it really is.

Forgot...MGM offer also had free admission to Studio 54...have no idea what that's worth.

Mmmmmm...Nathans and Fatburgers everyday.

There rooms at mandalay were nice, but I don't know how they rate to the MGM. It was also 8 years since I have been there. I thought it was pretty easy to get down to the Bellogio walking or using the monorail thing.

But it will probably put you outside more than you want. Walking between the places is cool but probalby gets old quickly.

Point of trivia, I found out my wife was pregnant in Mandalay Bay.

We rented a Mustang convertible and drove from Phoenix to Vegas. We decided we wanted to buy one, and but a few before the end of the trip she was late enough that we were sure she was "with child" (still don't know whose obv)

Mandalay is a muuuuuuch nicer property, while MGM will be more convenient and more poker-friendly. But MGM's for the kiddies while Mandalay's for the adults.

If you're comparing based on poker don't even consider Mandalay though- their poker room is barely a poker room. The rooms at Mandalay though are recently remodeled and are very nice, and the property in general is just light years better than MGM- better pool, better casino, less giant Asian families with two strollers and a 4'7'' grandma. Plus you can take their monorail direct to Excalibur and walk across the street to MGM if you want to play poker there. And as far as walking anywhere that time of year, you won't. I walked from Bellagio to Monte Carlo one day (and that's practically next door) in 112 degree heat and I actually lit on fire. Rough day.

Ive been to Vegas like a bajillion times, have lost tens of thousands of dollars at various games, and yet I never get any of these great deal emails... How does one go about getting these?

Don't really know MVP...I'm not really that much of a gambler and play low limits. I play more $1 Video Poker than anything. I try to charge everything to my room but I doubt that makes a difference. I've never stayed at MGM or Mandalay...I'm pretty sure I'm getting those offers because I stayed at Beau Rivage in Biloxi twice this past year. The Mandalay offer was one complimentary night if you booked three (@ $149/nt). I stayed @ Venetian last Thanksgiving (weekend following it) so that's why I get the Venetian/Palazzo offers.
