Against a calling station I'll usually bet and check down the river. It's a value bet against overcards or a draw, and if he raises me or bets out on the river it's easy to fold.
Against an aggressive player I'll usually check and call down the river. It's simpler to get the bet out of him when he bluffs on the end after I've checked the turn, than deal with a bluff CR on the turn that I have to fold to or deciding whether or not to call when the flush/straight comes out.
