Party 1/2 6max blind play,advice needed.

HI all ,just wondering whether it would be +ev to raise from the blinds with hands like AK,AQ in a 6max game with 2/3 limpers or is checking and calling the better option ?

Is there value in raising when you expect nobody to fold?

This is a hotly debated issue. The new school thinking goes something like this:

"AQ and AK are better than my opponents average limping hand, thus they have made a mistake by limping in so I should punish them by raising. I have a pot equity edge right now and I should push it."

The old school thinking goes something like this:

"By checking my hand gains deception and I am more likely to get more action out of dominated hands post flop. Furthermore if I raise pre flop and flop a pair and bet, my opponents will be getting correct pot odds to chase weak draws like second pair and gutshots, whereas if I don't raise pre flop and they call with those, they are making a big mistake."

My guess is you know which camp I'm from. I raise all sorts of garbage, of course I raise with AK and AQ .
