Okay, I know, the LP open-limp sounds like the ultimate corn-ball gay-ass weak move...but in this situation, I actually thought there were some good reasons. Namely, my opponent in the SB. I'm dealt the POWERFUL hand of T9o, which can clearly be safely mucked from just about any position except for the BB. I do occasionally steal-raise with this mighty piece of shit, sadly enough, but against this opponent I felt there were good reasons why 1) I shouldn't raise, but 2) I should play the hand.
1) He's extremely LAG preflop, particularly out of his blinds. I don't want to get into a pissing match against him with a hand that's really worthless if it doesn't hit.
2) Post-flop, he's pretty aggressive and very loose in terms of paying off, so I do want to be in hands against him.
3) I have position on him.
Yeah, T9o is garbage and tossing it would clearly not be a big loss in value. But when I'm against this sort of opponent, I absolutely LOVE to be in pots with him as much as possible, especially in position. He's not invariably a maniac post-flop, but he is aggressive and he will pay off with a lotta shit. So I really thought my most profitable move here would be to get in as cheaply as possible preflop, even if it means pulling the cheesiest preflop move in poker, so that I can get a chance at his constantly moving chips. Tell me whether you think my logic is sound or not.
The hand itself is not really that exciting, I really just want comments on my preflop play here.
