Just 'cause it LOOKS like a spew...

Is it a spew? Don't know much about my SB opponent in this hand, but I know the cold-caller was pretty loose (though not a COMPLETE calling station). My turn bet it probably questionable after two flop calls, but how bout the river bet? I figured that I'm gonna call a bet anyway, so I might as well bet and try to pick up a call from a nine or a lower pocket pair (which I doubt he'd bet for me if I checked). Sounds well thought-out and all, but looking at it in hindsight, it certainly does appear that I was just spewin off some chips. Whada ya'll think?

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: TW is UTG+1 with [Js], [Jc].
1 fold, TW raises, 3 folds, Button calls, SB calls, 1 fold.

Flop: (7 SB) [As], [9h], [2d] (3 players)
SB checks, TW bets, Button calls, SB calls.

Turn: (5 BB) [4s] (3 players)
SB checks, TW bets, Button calls, SB folds.

River: (7 BB) [6h] (2 players)
TW bets, Button calls.

Final Pot: 9 BB

Results in white below:
TW has Js Jc (one pair, jacks).
Button has Tc Ac (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Button wins 9 BB.

Yeah...looking back, it was a bit silly to continue with the hand after being called twice on the flop. As much as I hate to agree with your weak-tight nit-bags, I probably shoulda just check-folded the turn.

Okay, what if you get one caller who has position on you? Still give up, or bet it down? What if you get one caller who's out of position? Fire again and check the river? Enlighten this poor humble chip-spewer. :D

In position you bet and get one call on this flop I am usually tempted to bet again on the turn and check the river if called. Alot of folks will take one off wrongly to hit a small pair so the turn bet is probably pretty close to even as far as EV with the likelihood that you can improve as well on the river. And you don't have to follow up with that last Big Bet if you don't improve so it is a much better situation although one you will still lose often enough.

If only the late position player calls I still probably give it up as this is just too raggly of a board to have hit him with other than an Ace most of the time particularly after calling a preflop raise.
