I was happy to let him burn away his chips. Since he was so laggy (something like 65/25) I couldn't even put him on a range of hands. I was amazed by the hand he turned over. I think he might have done it "to vary his play" and appear unpredictable. If you're not playing the same people for hours, I don't see any point in this varying your play by raising random crap play.

I'd raise the flop, take a free card - and maybe call a river bet unimproved. If he three-bet the flop, I'd think "pocket pair", take a look at the turn - and fold unimproved.

He was too laggy and his range of hands was too wide for me to consider raising any street. When he pre-flop raises, he goes insane on every board - raising and re-raising with nothing but an overcard or a weak draw. I didn't want to get involved in any of that.
