I thought I got this overplaying out of my system from a couple sessions ago, but here we go again. I figure publicly humiliating myself is a good way to remind myself to stop overplaying my trips (thanks for the idea MVP).
Borderline pre-flop call. I would only call here to defend my blind, or if there's a bunch of other callers. I really wish one more player came along for the ride here. Ah well.
Easy peel on the flop. Easy lead on the turn. When raised, I 3-bet hoping he had AK. His cap should have told me I'm probably behind to AA or KK. Leading the river was me hoping he had AK still. Thankfully I didn't cap the river at least!
I'm curious how you guys would have played this turn. I wanted to trap the field for a bunch of bets with my trips here, so I believe leading out was the right play. Check-raising it would isolate me when I'm the likely favorite. I'd rather gain everyone else's bets. But would you 3-bet it? Fold to a cap? I know I definitely should have check-called the river when he capped the turn.
Thankfully I didn't make many more egregious errors today's session. I was up 5.5 BB at the end. For those unaware, EmpirePoker has a bonus from today (11th) onto the 13th. You must play 1000 raked hands using the bonus code PLAYOCT, 100% up to $100.
