Maniacs and Variance...

Today was a great reminder session for me. Maniacs at your tables make for HUGE variance. Everytime I was in a pot with this guy, I was pretty much forced to call down with a-high, k-high, and any pair.

I cannot get any of the converters to work for AbsolutePoker so this isn't going to be pretty.

Usually I'm folding AJo in the BB to a bet-raise, even on 6-max. But here I knew maniac was the 3-better. That lucky bastard! He 3-bets T3s, bets and bets his flush draw to the river, and then pairs up.

I was really getting tired of his C/R semi-bluffs. This guys stack was fluctuating like crazy on the two tables we both were on. He managed to suck out enough times to not go broke.

On hand 2, I think the turn 3-bet with A high is spewing.. I understand he will semi-bluff raise here alot, but you only have Ace-high. I am all for taking this to showdown, but I am not giving the maniac action without a hand.
