I called preflop because of the amount of people in the pot. The raiser was tight so I put him on an overpair but I thought I would win big if I hit.
It was a great flop but with the pot so big, I thought the best chance to get out draws would be to hope for a safe turn and raise to make them call 2 big bets rather than 2 small bets on the flop. I then got rivered by another solid player on his open ended draw which I don't think I could have gotten him off of. In actuality, it seems my best chance to make him fold was what I did on the turn but the pot was too big then. I was pretty sure the last card killed me with the straight or the flush so I took the cheap showdown and saved myself 2 or 4 bucks.
Thoughts on my play? Anyone play it different? Seems like I was doomed to lose this one.Statistics: Posted by briachek — Mon Feb 28, 2005 4:41 pm
