Last night, ATE was playing in the 1000 max PLO8 game, on STARS. This game has a blind of 5 and 10, and is a little higher than I normally play. I don't like putting up a 10 dollar blind.
anyway, I start the hand with 750 bucks. I am NOT going to tell anyone, what my complete starting hand was. This is because ATE plays a lOT more hands, than I would EVER NEVER have my fans and readers play. There are reasons for this, beyond the scope of this article.
Action player makes it 25, ATE calls 20 more from the SB
The flop is: Ac 6c 10c I have a very small flush, 8 high, and a 34 low draw
Normally, I would NOT consider calling a bet with this, but Mr. Action is going to get a call from me. I check, he bets 80, which I quickly call. No one eles calls, but as there were five players, the pot is a little over 300.
Luckily for me, a nice SWEET lil' DEUCE (that's a TWO for y'all who are new) on the turn.
Oh WELL, if he got a 34 AND a bigger flush, at least I get half my money back.
ATE bets 300 GUY GOES ALL IN FOR 800! ! ! ! i HAD ABOUT 360 OR SO LEFT, so I call. Heck, against THIS guy, if I had 3000 left, I'd have gone all in!!
The river, is a VERY dissapointing ACe, SURELY, now, he must have something.
NOPE!!
SWISH!!! the 1500 BUCK pot slides over to me. I about died laughing. How can anyone, put in 750 bucks, and not even have the nut low, or aces up or a set!
WELCOME TO BIG LIMIT games, on poker stars.
I moved over to 30-60 Omaha8, and the players were even worse.
This does NOT mean that ATE is suggesting that people jump into these games, before they are ready.
Just thought I'd entertain you, with a funny story.Statistics: Posted by AdamtheExpert — Thu Feb 10, 2005 6:22 pm
