I've only played 5K odd hands which I know is a tiny overall figure, but I'm showing 0.00 BB for flush draws. I'm tempted to try ignoring flush draws entirely, as they're obviously not making a profit overall and unlike Holdem you often can't tell other than by instinct/betting if a boat's been made. I already don't play straight draws and rarely see 6th street without a completed hand i.e boat. I realise that at higher limits I'd get slaughtered playing this way, but it's an excercise in learning the game and building some kind of a bankroll before moving up to higher levels and incredibly, there's always someone calling even though I'm raising away come fifth!
Anyone ever tried just dropping those flush draws? Obviously, it's a very situational game but in general terms unless my flush is in by fifth street, it's in the muck. I don't see it as a good idea to chase a draw through 6th and 7th. Even then, in a multiway pot with a lot of raising, I figure a flush isn't that valuable and can just be an expensive second or third best holding even if you do make it.Statistics: Posted by snlc — Tue Jan 01, 2008 2:43 am
