Johnie Naked tries to argue with the most tested theory in science with points taken from the websiies of various creationist nutcases passing themsleves off as 'Intelligent Design Scientists' despite the fact that their 'theory' makes no predictions, is not falsifiable and is not scientific.
People who actually understand the scientific method in general and how evolution works in practice foolishly try to explain this to him so he will understand...

Johnie, your desperate search for holes for a 'god of the gaps' to fill is frankly embarrassing now. You end up waffling about the origin of the universe or biogenesis, which simply aren't relevant to evolution.
The short answer is that we don't know how life got started on this planet. So what? You would now doubt say it was God that started it, a lot of others would say that there was enough time for a very simple replicator to come into existence by chance (whether on earth or elsewhere and brought to earth by comet or whatever) and once it got a foothold, evolution could take over. But evolution has nothing to say about what happened before life started for obvious reasons. Mind you I would take any assertion by IDers about 'how long things take' with a large pinch of salt, given they were out by a factor of more than 10000 when they told us the eye couldn't have developed within geological time

And whilst the IDers desperately search for holes and make ridicuously weak attacks on Evolution, they never seem to have to justify the theory they claim is a scientific 'alternative'.
How do IDers explain:
That we share the vast propertion of our genes (in the high 90+%) with Chimpanzees and other apes? And many genes with all other animals and even plants
That the massive majority of all species that have ever existed on this planet were extinct long before humans appeared?
That rats develop resistance to rat poison, bacteria to antibiotics, and the malaria parasite to anti-malarial drugs?
That lions/tigers and donkeys/horses can breed with each other?
That a gene for eyes taken from a mouse and introduced into a fruit fly embryo causes the fruit fly to grow extra eyes?
That we can actually trace the evolution and spread of the human and other species through time using molecular biology with results that are consistent with the fossil record.
For IDers where do new species come from? Does God personally intervene each time? Or do IDers just think all species are fixed for all time?
Can you actually name 5 predictions of 'Intelligent Design' that differ from classic evolutionary theory and are testable in the real word?
ID AS SCIENCE IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT A FALSIFIABLE PREMISE THAT DIFFERS FROM EVOLUTION.
SO PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

As I said interspecial evolution or 'macroevolution' cannot be observed, because apparently it takes milions of years. So, in one sense, evolution is a fact but it depends on which kind.
Macroevolution or darwinism is just a theory(which contains both natural selection, random mutation and/or intraspecial or microevolution) not observable or testable, that is an interpretation of evidence we have found in the genome, the fossil record, etc.
When people say 'evolution is a fact' they are most often talking about intraspecial evolution (fruit flies/adaptation) which is. What does NOT follow however, is that all species have common descent.
