My favorite use of the numbers is when a player who raises 10% and plays 25% limps to me when I'm in LP or in the blinds. It's like he's saying 'my hand isn't good enough to see a raise - it's not in the top 10%'.
If you make a standard raise it's a big +EV play for you here.
I look at the figures every time I have limpers to me in LP or in the blinds - if they all tend to raise 5%+ and aren't hyper-aggressive post-flop, I will often raise (even with junk), isolate and then bet out to take down 7-8BB...
If you have folks that limp but never raise or even a maniac who does make a raise then you have to be more circumspect.
It helps if you do note down whether players who raise still like to limp with AA,KK and AK and also note what hands a min-raiser lkes to min raise..Statistics: Posted by excession — Fri Feb 11, 2005 7:24 am
