VP$IP from SB: 41.88
This is mostly from unraised pots. I tend to call with any hand that has ANY sort of potential if I can see a flop for half price. This means any ace, Jxs and one-gappers, even two-gappers down to 97. I really HATE playing blinds against raises though so if the pot is raised I will be much more selective.
Unless someone is a notorious blind-stealer I won't try to defend against a real raise (4xbb+), I just don't like playing marginal hands out of position. The way I see it, every hand I play I put my stack at risk, I don't want to risk 100bb+ to defend 1bb with bad cards and horrible position. I guess I need to work on blind defense but I have felt that in NL/PL it's not as important as in FL, my "style" is to try and win few big pots instead of many small ones, if that makes sense. I see the bb's more like the fee I pay for getting cards all the time, a subscription you might say
Preflop raising
Hmm.. the way I count I pretty much do raise with 1/4 of the hands. If I count pfr/vpip=24.6% or did you mean it another way?
I do however dislike raising out of position. The only hands I pretty much always raise from the first 3 seats (unless I am trapping) are QQ+ and AK. This is an adjustment I have done somewhat recently and I haven't been able to evaluate it completely but so far I feel like I am getting away from marginal hands (AQ, JJ-) a lot easier now that I am not raising them up front. I used to have problems with that.
However, I am now moving towards raising more in position with speculative hands. Basically the idea is to raise most of the time from CO or the Button if I am going to play, both with the standard raising hands and SC's, small/medium pairs etc. This of course ruins the implied odds so I am not sure if it is a good idea.
Aggression
I've been more active in smaller pots lately, often betting middle pair and pretty much all draws if there is 3 players or less in. I'm probably going to be doing this even more so the flop aggression should be going up. I guess my River aggression is a bit low, I tend to chicken out and not bet for value if I have the option to check behind and I'm unsure of my hand. Probably need to work on this too.
