1) Compact your database. The GT+ queries may run faster, reducing the load on your machine.
2) Like excession suggests, observe the table for a while before sitting down. That way you have better base stats to go on, so you can increase your hand import interval (PT obviously uses a lot of resources when reading HHs into the database so the less frequently you do it, the better).
3) Turn off autorate when using auto-import. This will save you some processor cycles, but of course you'll be cutting out this useful information.
But basically excession is correct - you need more RAM and/or a faster processor unless your machine is quite modern, in which case you have a problem of some other kind.
GT+ itself should be quite lightweight. It just runs some fairly mundane queries on the database. I would imagine it's the HH import by PT which is crippling your machine (the import must be badly written because it takes far too long and uses far too many resources for what it does).Statistics: Posted by tetsuo — Fri Jan 14, 2005 7:12 pm
