Here are some hands i want some opinions on. The game is pretty passive and raises aren't made without a big hand or draw normally. if there is a bet, there maybe one raise but normally its 1 bet and many calls. The river is different and can get more aggressive now that everyone knows what they have. They chase a lot, bet a decent amount of marginal hands. Pretty much what you would expect. I have confidence in my reading skills over all these people.
Hand 1
4 limpers, i call in late mp with A348ss.
Flop comes A73 with a flush draw i don't have. 6 handed. there is a bet and 2 callers to me. Your action?
Hand 2
I have A457 suited in spades and limp in mp after a few limpers. 6 see the flop
Flop is Kx9s4s, . there is a bet and 2 calls to me, i call, 5 see the turn.
Turn is 8 spades, making my nut flush. Checks to me, i bet and 3 call, all out of position to me.
River is 6 spades. Checks to the guy to my right that bets. Now i know my low isn't good and if i raise, i might force out the other two people. I think this guy could easily be just betting a low with some mediocre high but mainly just a low so i might raise and get other lows trapped in for more bets. However, i think the other two might fold to a raise if they have to call 2 cold. Do you call or raise?
Hand 3
Straight forward player raises in ep. only 1 caller to me in the bb and I call with A57J, with nut diamond draw. The other caller is complete calling station but will bet if check to with any marginal holding too.
Flop comes 993, 2 diamons. Now I put the raiser on some sort of AAxx hand so I know he likely hates the 9's. I bet out with my draw, he reluctantly folds, other guy thinks for a second and calls.
Turn is offsuit 2.
Now i got a decent low draw too and I bet, he calls.
River is gin, 4d
I bet, he calls, i flip up the wheel and nut flush and he looks disgusted and folds. You might think he may have a 9 but i think 90% of the time, he doesn't even have that and i beat out his running low or something.
Hand 4
There isn't much question on this one but what happened after was nice.
I have As3s7s8c, 3 spades, in late mp and limp in. about 6-7 see the flop.
Flop is 2s5s9c. One hell of a nice flop for me. I got draws and draws. There is a bet and 4 callers to me, i raise, i lose one guy behind me, everyone else calls.
Turn is a Q offsuit, checks to me, i bet, everyone calls.
River is Ts, I have absolute nuts. Checks to me, 4 calls and i flip and scoop.
For some reason, just the way i handled myself in this hand, one old guy asked me in all seriousness "are you a pro?" I just smiled and told him I was part time and I'm just trying to learn a new game. He was a nice guy and he was also the type to not raise on the river with the absolute nut high with no low if he liked you so i figured it couldn't hurt to have him liking me too.
Nothing too special about it but it was a nice stroke to my ego there.Statistics: Posted by briachek — Sun Mar 26, 2006 5:28 pm
