For me, in calling a raise, I like to make a quick calculation of what I'm going to need to bet and of how often I'm going to hit that. Setting with nothing else (i.e., big pair with crappy side cards) CAN still be good if, as bri mentions, the implied odds for that particular player are high.
I also think I sometimes get too picky about wrap quality here. Even a 2-holer like 68TJ is still pretty good, particularly ds.
