Preflop:
I make a gay raise. I've been considering making these from now on with good drawing hands and tried it a few times today with OK results. Obviously my position here is a bit crappy, one of the reasons I made the raise was because the button seemed to like to raise limpers, so this was sort of a protective raise (he had never re-raised).
Flop:
Took me a while to decide to bet this flop. I only have a gut shot, small overpair and T high flush draw. Still, two people checked and the guy behind me seemed tight so I figured what the hell.
Turn:
Now I decide to give up. When he bets my cursor is hovering the fold button... then I start thinking. What does he have? He seemed pretty tight, and very aggressive post flop. I really don't think he'll slowplay the straight or a set on that board... and the K shouldn't change anything. I figure he has the flush draw. Surely if he had a set/two-pair to go with it he would have raised the flop being aggressive?
So... if he indeed has the flush draw, what do I do? Too many scare cards can come on the river so he'll have the advantage having position on me, if I'm going to call I might as well push? At first I figured I would have some fold equity but then I realised it was only like $12 for him to call so a fold is unlikely. If I get called, I figure I'm either good (against a flush draw) or I have a decent amount of outs (gutshot+flush+set) against a set/straight.
That's how a fold turned into a check/raise... how do you score it on the Donk-o-meter?Statistics: Posted by Stoneburg — Sun Jul 30, 2006 7:40 am
