Hand 2: I would rarely see the flop with that hand OOP, but I like your subsequent play.
Specifically, betting the turn is the way to go. You'd have to fold to a pot-sized raise, but I think continuing into less likely straight draws is actually pretty important in terms of "moving beyond nut-peddling." With your hand, I'm probably not betting into an offsuit T on the turn, though (top open-ender). That card scares me too much.

Hand 2 I'd probably check the turn, although if he's a bit of a weak chaser I guess he could have a smaller flush draw. You're not folding now anyways, I guess, so you might've well just bet the full pot.

My read on the guy betting is that he would bet a draw here, since nobody raises I am now fairly sure my hand is good unless the bettor managed to hit a low set.
