If you're reasonably sure he'll pop it again if you call then check the turn (which I think most decent or slightly maniacal semi-aggro players will here), then you're essentially guaranteed to get your stack in on a hand where (against his possible raising range) you're probably something like a 75% favourite on average. I'd rather do that, I think, than risk losing the hands you're really crushing (like two pair, middle and bottom set, wrap with lower flush draw etc.) by raising again on the flop when the pot is still small.
I should add the caveat that it obviously depends a bit on metagame stuff, how he's been playing, what your "feel" of his hand is (i.e. is he guaranteed to put it in on the flop a good % of the time?) etc. but I think with this little pot, for the most part, I prefer this line given the info you gave.Statistics: Posted by Felonius_Monk — Thu May 31, 2007 3:44 pm
