second, i don' t think cloutier had party $25 plo8 in mind when he wrote his book. please correct me if the facts suggest otherwise.

my big point is that it is important to adapt to what the game you are playing is offering. what the books say may or may not be relevant.

as for people betting the board for me... there are plenty of aggro players who btp in order to take down "orphan" pots. furthermore, there are players at this level who are idiots that will bet for who knows what reason. third, if you let them peel a card off, there may be a low draw to which you can often give them incorrect pot odds to call a pot-sized bet (a +EV situation when they call).

as for taking down the pot... if i was in late position, someone potted and there were several callers, i definitely pot-reraise in order to price out the redraws. at that point, though, i've made quite a bit more than a buck if everyone folds, and i get great odds if some idiot with a weak redraw calls (and this happens).

anyway, i wasn't trying to criticize, and i hope you don't view my comments in that light. welcome to btp. i look forward to reading more of your posts.

I mean 3 BB (a 60% pot-bet) on the turn caused half of the other players to kick it in. Like I had said, it was a probe--to see if someone was drawing at a wheel, or had the [Kc] and another club.

2 callers made me happy. On the river, I toss a definite underbet (<50% of the pot), in hopes that somebody raises me, either with the Broadway straight, or a smaller flush. I get obliged by someone who clearly has no idea how to play Omaha, and rake in what likely is the best pot I could've gotten in the situation.

Also keep in mind that I had (at the start of the hand) the entire table outchipped combined. These players don't often fool with a big stack without thinking they have something. I really don't think I could've gotten more out of that hand regardless. The only reason I got what I did out of it was because the opponent was an idiot. The other guy was drawing to a low, and missed it when the [Qs] fell on the river.

Playing these low-limit games on Stars, I feel like Roger Clemens pitching against a team of quadraplegic 5-year olds.

Pyrobird68: folds
coinsman: raises $9.10 to $10.35 and is all-in--He obliges. After seeing him play, I don't think he understands the whole "2 in the hand, 3 on the board" concept that is Omaha. I almost feel bad taking his money...
Tiburon41: calls $9.10--Naah. It is my moral obligation to seperate a sucker from his money. Enjoy the rail.

Seat 8: coinsman showed [5h Ah 9d 4c] and lost with HI: high card Ace

Bummer now is I've got literally more money in front of me than the rest of the table COMBINED. They're terrified to call anything. At one point I won 9 out of 12 pots, with only 2 splits. Next...
