Proper conservative play would be to check-fold, but I wasn't too keen to do that with this assclown -- he could have held anything. He was a losing player and frequently showed down junk. I put him on a lower str8 draw, the same str8 as me, or (low probability) a set. He actually held two pair and a str8 draw on the turn and hit the boat on the river.
So my question is this... was my assumption about his range of holdings too far off the mark? I figured that he most likely feared the paired board as much as I did and would fold unless he had the boat.
Another question... how else to play this?
