The original stars Edward Woodward in the Cage role and Christopher Lee as the creepy head of the hebridean island. Lee considers it the best film he's ever been involved with. It's not a classic horror (i.e. a lot of it is creepy and unsettling rather than frightening in a characteristic way) but a wonderful film. I haven't seen the remake but I don't see the point of taking a story, changing it's setting, and making it shit. Rather like the Italian Job remake, my first thought was "what the hell is the point? What was wrong with the original?
