It's no wonder Action Dan is one of the best in the world. His understanding of the game is immeasurable, but then, he's been playing it for a thousand years. Harrington was one of the first to play at the Algonquin in New York, which was at one time the top game in the country. (He was playing backgammon there before the poker started up.) That's not in the book.
If you've seen Rounders, there's a mention of the game in it.
