I'm about half done with NLTAP. Surprisingly, it's not a "Don't play anything besides AA, KK, and AK and be very careful with the latter two, as you might be up against AA". It's highly mathematical, of course, and sort of gets into some loose play. I suggest this book to a lot of people that don't quite understand the math behind NLHE.

Then this hand came up. The villain ended up flopping a set of Ts, so he called and turned the boat. I hit my straight on the river, just to put some salt in my wounds. I'm not even sure how badly I played this, but I figured I'm not that far behind against someone with top pair and I'm way ahead against anyone with just a draw.

Maybe I should have just pitched it, though.. I mean, he'd have to have a strong hand to lead pot sized into like 4 people, including the raiser. Live and learn, I guess.

I quit playing poker for the time being and am focusing all my energy on No Limit Hold Em Theory and Practice and casino whoring. I'm enjoying my "time off" and just having fun learning some new stuff.

I plan on making about $1000 from the bonuses and then start back playing $25NL.

From now on I don't move up unless I have 45+ buyins.

I have realized that I'm a high variance player and this will probably work better for me.

Yes, a very bad play as fold equity doesn't exist at the level I play, but I guess I was just wanting to get lucky and win a huge pot. Yes, that's right. I wanted to suck out. Sue me.
