Now, when you sit down at one of these tables, there are two check-boxes: Deposit the max, or deposit "other" amount. By default, "other" amount is clicked. And by default, the "other" amount to deposit is just 10 bucks. Maybe that's why 50% to 75% of the people at these tables ALWAYS have $25 or less at the table. To say the least, they do not inspire fear.
Anyway. On to the crazy muppets.
A guy sits down UTG+1 (Villain) with $10 and posts out of position. UTG limps, Villain minraises, I call the minraise behind him with 99, everybody folds except UTG. Pot is $3.25 and the flop is all undercards to my pair, rainbow. UTG bets $1, Villain calls, I pop it to $5, UTG folds, Villain calls. Turn is another undercard, UTG+1 checks, and I put him in (he has just 3 bucks left). He turns over KT and of course the river is a T.
A guy has been raising 3x the big blind pretty much every time he is OTB or in the cutoff. This time he does it again from the cutoff and I reraise him from the button with AT, he calls. Flop is rags, he checks, I bet 2/3 the pot, he calls. Turn another blank, check/check. River unexpectedbly makes the board 2345x and I have a straight, he bets half pot, I think and then just call, and yep he has J6s for no hand on the flop except the runner-runner straight draw that hit and gave me the lower straight!
A guy minraises preflop, I call with 77. I flop top set but lose -- he had 62s and refused to fold his gutshot on a 753J4 board.
The table gets down to 2 players, and the other guy is a total donk with only 10 bucks left so I stick around. Second hand I get KK and he pushes all-in, I call of course and he has 22 and catches the set to beat me.
I get A9 OTB and raise it up first in, get one caller. Board is AK9QJ and of course he has AT and he refuses to fold until he sucks out the win on the river and doubles up off me.
And then there's the big hand I lost where I actually deserved to lose: I had K4 in the BB and the flop is K74 and I lose all-in on the turn vs 44.
They can't outdraw me every time, luckily. But usually they're so shortstacked that even taking a stack from them doesn't make much of a dent in my losses. I'm down 50 bucks so far to the worst bunch of players I have been around in many a moon.Statistics: Posted by k3nt — Thu Feb 09, 2006 12:17 pm
