I've been playing on sort of a full-time schedule this week and I was hoping to get some feedback on what kind of swings one should expect on a day to day basis. Monday I was riding high and tuesday I wanted to draw myself a hot bath and slit the backs of my knees.
$50NL FR
Mon: 4 Tables, 7 hours of play, won $240. Cards were not great, but they weren't bad. I think I only won one pot over $50. But I felt like I was picking my spots with x-ray vision, all of the small pots went my way.
Tue: 4 tables, 8 hours of play, lost $250. Started off the reverse of the previous day. Not losing big pots, just all of the small ones. And then I started losing the big pots. Lost 3 preflop all-ins with KK. Numerous two-outters, blah, blah, etc. $50 of this at the end of the day was certainly due to tilt.
Wed: 2 tables, 6 hours of play, won $100. Up and down day, still losing to miracle cards left and right. (by miracle cards I mean 2 outs, 1 card to come)
Today (Thu): 2-3 tables, 8 hours of play, won $190. I lost 2 buy-ins from flopping sets and not being able to get away from them before I was committed (totally my fault), and 2 buy-ins from getting all-in with AA preflop (once to KK and once to QJo). With losing $200 in just those 4 hands I'm suprised I was able to end up profitting that much on the day.
We'll see how tomorrow goes. The thing that's getting to me now is how often I lose big pots when I am an overwhelming favorite. I lose all of my big pairs to underpairs hitting their sets. And I don't slowplay anything. All of the money is either in preflop or on the flop (when the opponent doesn't yet have his set). And with two cards to come, I lose every time. I don't expect to win everytime in these situations, but losing them 9 out of 10 times is starting to get difficult to handle. Anyway...any thoughts you have on the day to day stuff would be much much appreciated...Statistics: Posted by Pozzo — Thu Jun 08, 2006 9:57 pm
