I didn't raise the turn because it puts me in a VERY tough position if called. Obviously if he pops back I can safely fold but the thing is he can smooth-call with WIDE range of hands, and then I still have to check-fold the river. The other problem is that he only has $123 left after betting $30. I hate min-raising in general but that's about my only option here since if I raise anymore I will be very pot-committed. He has to put me on a med-big pair and I don't know if he'd buy it if I suddenly switched up on the turn and represented AK.

Betting the turn crossed my mind, but my #1 goal at that point was to get to a cheap showdown, and making a big bet didn't really seem like the way to go. Also, I thought there was a good chance that he had 66-TT, and if I bet the turn he folds it, whereas if we check-check the turn and I value bet the river, I'm more likely to get called.Statistics: Posted by Mad Genius — Thu Feb 03, 2005 2:29 am
